Photographer Presentation: Dorothea Lange
This is one of my favorite photos by Dorothea Lange. She shot this during the Great Depression, when she shot many many phenomenal photos. Her most famous work out of the Great Depression is "Migrant Mother," but I think that this one is better. It shows how the depression really affected everyone. This man seems to have been a somewhat wealthy man with class. Now he, too, is as poor as everyone else during this time. I think I also like that he still shows a sense of pride. Or he could have been just a blue collar, working man. Either way I still love this photo from Dorothea Lange. I also lucked out for this project because she's one of my favorite photographers.
